We are a female owned Brooklyn-based business that to aims to make people feel welcomed, curious, entertained and connected through our food and the experiences that surround it. Inspired by heritage, a love of middle eastern food culture and good ‘ol American nostalgia we started savta as a pop-up Sunday brunch in Bed-Stuy and are now working towards opening a permanent space in 2019.

Our food infuses the flavors, ingredients, textures and characteristics of Israeli food culture into the modern American diner-style table to create delicious meals that are familiar yet surprising.
Dishes are inspired by cherished food memories and stories that evoke a warm nostalgic feeling to serve people in ways that will inspire and nourish the soul.
about the women of savta
Alana Zeitchik and Caitlin Hubner are long time pals turned partners thanks to the marvel of Craigslist in 2008. Alana has had a successful career in media+advertising, most recently as Eater’s Director of Brand Marketing. Caitlin is a chef trained by the Natural Gourmet Institute and has worked FOH and BOH at some of nyc’s finest including Roberta’s, Dirt Candy and Mission Chinese.
Back in 2012 they were two girls in their twenties living in Brooklyn and trying to survive while still being able to eat out. While living together they spent much of their free time dreaming up mad scientist ideas that would be more fun than their day jobs. Now that they are in their thirties not much has changed.
Finally, they’ve come together to bring one of their ideas to life. Earlier this year they started s a v t a as a pop-up brunch in Bed-Stuy and are now working towards opening a permanent space in 2019.
